Editorial Review
As we all tick on in years, simple pleasures take on a new light. No longer are we content with jostling with teenagers to get to the bar in a crowded club, only to have a poor selection of pre-mixed drinks to choose from. Nor are we satisfied to go to a bar sporting car park views. It's around this time that we all look to more sophisticated pursuits, or, at the very least, more tranquil surrounds in which to relax into maturity.
Located in the tranquil Fannie Bay (c'mon, we're supposed to be adults), the oddly named Darwin Ski Club is the perfect place for a spot of catching up with friends, a long Sunday session, or, for the ambitious, some skiing. With a reputation for having an unpretentious atmosphere and plentiful drinking options, the Ski Club has naturally become a popular destination for those wishing to actually hear each other talk (no competing with sound systems here), tuck into some hearty nosh and down some quality booze.
A collection of pergola-style roofs offer sheltered seating areas populated by basic furniture - tables and chairs. The expansive beer garden (including outdoor bar) beyond this is dotted with palm trees providing plenty of shade under which you can sip those frosty beers or ice-cold glasses of chardonnay. And as the sun sets over the bay and the band strikes up another song, you'll thank yourself again for choosing a simple life.

Ainsley: My god! I can see and taste the air! It's been a long time but I have such amazing memories. Doing laps in the pool and then catching up with mates by the bar. I've done alot in my life but it will never compare to my time hanging at Darwin Ski Club! (16 October 2008)
Lucy: The Darwin Ski Club is easily one of the most amazing venues in Darwin - a muct see for locals and visitors! They have live music on Friday and Sundays with the most beautiful sunset vantage point in the city. It is right next to the Darwin Museum in Fannie Bay located right on the beach. There is a pool and good bistro meals available every day. Stunning! Two Thumbs UP!! (10 January 2008)
