Editorial Review

There are some nightclubs that open their doors, put on a few DJs and hike up the price of drinks till your fingers are raw from repeated visits to the ATM. We all know who you are, so don't put up your hands. Well you can thank the dance music Gods that we have Discovery. A mighty, multi-levelled nightclub, this place is more like a temple of worship than a pure music venue. Naturally, we all worship at the feet of house, electro, techno and electronica within these thumping walls.

Open only on weekends, this club is like a blackhole in the club scene of Darwin - ultimately, everyone ends up here at the end of the night. Unfortunately, this can lend the place a kind of rough-edged feel come the late hours of the morning, but before then it's a paradise of exotic dancers, highly charged punters and more theme nights than you can poke an electro stick at. What kind of theme nights? Why, what else but bikini comps and all-male revues!

Naturally, premixed drinks and Jager Bombs are all the rage at most of the bars throughout the venue. If you're after a cocktail, try venturing to one of the less busy bars to bail up a bartender. They do have the skills to pay the bills, but most nights will be lacking in time in order to pose you a few questions to find out where your tastes lie. Come early in the night and nab yourself a seat and sup on a few Cosmos to get those dancing pants lubed, or just sit on a Long Island Iced Tea to ease your way into the weekend. Mind you, don't take your drink onto the dancefloor; the ice will fall out.
