Editorial Review
Loong Fong Seafood Restaurant is a pleasant dining venue with easy parking attached to the Phoenix Motel in Nightcliff. Loong Fong has a relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere with adults and kids alike enjoying the friendly, personalised service and mix of Chinese and Western fare. Staff will even sing happy birthday to you on your birthday! And if you're up for a long night there's karaoke and a dance floor.
The extensive menu features authentic Chinese and Western dishes. It's unusual to find true-blue battered barra and chips at a Chinese restaurant, but Loong Fong certainly turns out a delicious and substantial version. You can also sample barramundi in several seafood mains cooked Chinese style. If you love seafood you'll be spoilt for choice; about 30 dishes feature prawns, scallops, squid, crab and more. Red and white meats and vegetarian dishes are also plentiful. You'll find all those well-known Chinese flavours here, from ginger to chilli plum and black bean sauce. Favourites such as lemon chicken, honey pork and Mongolian beef range alongside egg flower soup, oysters Kilpatrick, duck with plum sauce and Moreton Bay bug tail with hot spicy salt. If you order Western food, expect to wait just a little longer as cooking time is different to Chinese dishes which can be tossed out in a matter of minutes. Banquets are always a good option for several people, and there's even a choice of two family banquet takeaways. Loong Fong is fully licensed, and opens daily for dinner from 6pm with lunches by arrangement.
